I am part of a fantastic team who strive everyday to give the children a fantastic education as well as the lovely nurturing environment St Mary's provides. As a past pupil I have many fond memories of St Mary's and I am committed to helping the school in improve even more than it has done so far. As staff governor I aim to be the bridge between the staff and the governors. I am really looking forward to starting my role on the governing board and I am thrilled that I have been given this opportunity to be part of the school’s wider team.

As a former pupil, I have some lovely memories of the school and I am proud to be able to contribute in any way I can to ensure that our school succeeds and that more fantastic memories are made! Please let me know if there is anything I can help with. "

Mr Shane Oliver

Hello, my name is Shane Oliver and I wanted to be a parent governor as I feel that it’s good to give as much time as you can to support your child through their time at school.
I grew up in Penzance and have always lived within 5 minutes of the school. I have had a connection with St Mary’s ever since I can remember, my mum, her sister & her 2 brothers went to St Mary’s and I grew up on the same street as the nuns who ran the school when I was young and have had a great connection to the school ever since.
I am married with 2 children and understand the importance of supporting your children when they are at school and in the community. I am visually impaired and registered disabled and have a lot of spare time on my hands. I became a parent governor, volunteer and a member of the PTA to give my time to help the school, staff and pupils excel.
I am very proud to be part of the next chapter in St Mary’s History.

Mr Bill Johnston
